Why Hire a Proposal Photographer?
You've spent weeks—maybe even months—planning one of the biggest moments of your lives. When the question is finally asked, there's no do-over.
Having photographed countless proposals over the years, I know how quickly the moment unfolds and how important it is to get it right the first time. From helping you choose the perfect location and timing to blending into the background so the surprise stays a surprise, I'll be there every step of the way.
Once they say "yes," the celebration is just beginning. We'll capture the excitement, the happy tears, the ring, and those first moments together before you have to answer a hundred phone calls and text messages.
Your only job is to ask the question.
Mine is to make sure you'll never forget the answer.
Planning a proposal can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to do it alone.
Once you reach out, we'll work together to create a plan that feels natural, personal, and true to your relationship. I'll help with location ideas, timing, lighting, logistics, and all the little details that help everything come together seamlessly.
On the day of your proposal, I'll arrive early, blend into the surroundings, and be ready before you even arrive. Most couples never realize I'm there until after the question has been asked.
Your secret is safe with me.
Whether I need to pretend to be a tourist, another photographer, or simply someone enjoying the scenery, I've become pretty good at blending in. We'll have a clear plan beforehand, and I'll keep in touch with you throughout the day so everything goes smoothly without raising suspicion.
The proposal is only the beginning.
Once you've had a few moments to celebrate together, we'll spend a little time capturing authentic portraits while you're still riding the excitement of the moment. Those first smiles, the happy tears, the laughter, and of course, plenty of ring photos—it's often one of the most joyful portrait sessions you'll ever have.
I've photographed enough proposals to know one thing:
Almost everyone is convinced they're going to forget everything they planned the second they get down on one knee. That's completely normal. I'll make sure everything else is taken care of so you can focus on the only thing that matters—asking the question.
Wondering when to start the booking process?
If you're hoping to propose on a Saturday or during a popular season, I recommend reaching out as soon as you've purchased the ring. Proposal dates—especially weekends around holidays, spring blooms, and fall foliage—can book surprisingly quickly.
Weekday proposals tend to offer much more flexibility, making them a great option if your schedule allows. The earlier we begin planning, the more options we'll have for locations, timing, and creating a proposal that's uniquely yours.
Some of my favorite proposal moments happen after the question is asked.
If you'd like family or friends to witness the surprise from a distance, they're more than welcome to be part of the experience. We'll work together beforehand to decide the best place for them to wait so they can share in the excitement without giving away the surprise.
Once the celebration begins, I'll be sure to capture those emotional reunions and include everyone in group photos, candid moments, and celebratory portraits. It's a beautiful way to preserve not only the proposal itself, but the joy of sharing it with the people who matter most.
The proposal itself is unforgettable, but it's often the thoughtful little details that make it uniquely yours.
A bouquet of their favorite flowers. A chilled bottle of champagne waiting nearby. A cozy picnic overlooking the city. Candles, handwritten letters, framed photographs, or meaningful keepsakes—simple touches like these can make your proposal feel even more personal and create beautiful moments to photograph afterward.
If you have an idea, I'd love to help you bring it to life. And if you're not sure where to start, I'm always happy to offer suggestions based on your vision, location, and budget.
Planning a surprise proposal can be nerve-racking—but you don't have to do it alone.
From the moment you reach out, I'll help you think through the details, confirm the timeline, and make sure nothing gets overlooked. On the day of your proposal, I'll arrive early, keep an eye on everything around us, and quietly guide the plan behind the scenes so you can stay focused on what matters most.
If your nerves kick in (and they usually do!), I'll be there with a reassuring smile, a quick reminder to breathe, and the confidence that comes from photographing proposals year after year.
Now that you know what it's like to work together, let's find the collection that's the right fit for your proposal.
Whether you're planning something beautifully simple or dreaming of an elaborate surprise, there's an experience designed with you in mind.
