Rain on your wedding day? Sometimes it creates the moments you’ll remember most. 🤍 Katie & Henry embraced every single drop, proving that the best weddings aren’t about perfect weather—they’re about choosing joy anyway. No venue? No problem! Ann and Rob threw one of the sweetest backyard weddings I’ve ever seen. Saving costs on major big ticket items like a venue can really make an impact on your wedding. It’s not for everyone, but if it is for you, don’t let anyone make you feel bad for it. I’ve seen HUNDREDS of weddings over the years and I’ve never seen one I walked away from thinking “well that was a crappy wedding”. Do what is right for you. As we approach their 3rd wedding anniversary, I just to share some ceremony photos from one of my favorite weddings of all time! Simona and Karin threw what might be the best wedding I’ve ever witnessed, full of color, detail and an insane amount of love and support from two families across two different cultures. I don’t think I ever laughed and cried so much in one day. I’ve seen lots of posts lately talking about why you need a second shooter… and then it shows secondary shots like this. But did you know an experienced photographer who slings two cameras at once can also get you these secondary shots? An experienced wedding photographer knows how to anticipate what’s coming next, knows what emotions follow certain moments, carries two cameras for two different focal lengths and moves like a gazelle with the speed of a cheetah to get where we need to be. So if you’re planning a wedding and are unsure if you need a second shooter, talk to the photographers you are interviewing about it. Some of us are fully confident and capable to shoot a wedding solo. And some of us prefer to have a second. At the end of the day, it’s about what you want, what you need and what you can afford.
